My portraits blur the lines between figuration and abstraction. Using thick paint, expressive brushwork, and a merging of features and backgrounds, I create undefined spaces in which the subjects’ feelings and vulnerabilities can emerge. Rather than capturing a likeness, I seek to engage viewers through their personal identification with an array of emotions.
